How long after I pay do you ships the games?

Games are generally shipped the next post day that the Post Office is open. Games are shipped from Xenia, OH 45385.

Do you sell licenses for the Quizzing Game?

Yes, we do. Licenses are a fairly new thing for the Quizzing Game, but we know they offer more flexibility in order to copy the game legally, and it makes the game cheaper for us and you. In order to obtain a license to make your own copies of the Quizzing Game, you must purchase at least 1 game at regular price. From there you can purchase as many licenses as needed for $4 per game. If you have any questions or would like more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

Will future updates be downloadable from your website?

Yes!...but...There are basically two parts to the Quizzing Game, the program itself and then all the question files. Any new PROGRAM downloads may not always be completely compatible with all older versions of the game and you will have to buy a new version of the game if that is the case. Items such as font size and screen layout may differ depending on your operating system as well.

With that said, any new question files that we generate will be made available for download off of our website for FREE. If the files are too large for you to download, please email us, and we can send you a question-only file via email that you can play without the sound, but the questions will appear word-by-word up on the screen.

What is your church rate?

We do have a church rate of $5 per game plus shipping charges with a minimum 3-game purchase, but two conditions must be met. First of all, to get the $5 rate a check needs to be cut from the church and secondly, we need your guarantee that these games will either remain in the church's possession or be sold at your Awana Share Store. The purpose of the $5 rate is to help churches out or to give kids who can't afford to purchase a game a chance to earn it in Share Store. What we don't want is for the church to get it and resell it to the kids for $5. If you can meet these two conditions, we would be happy to supply you with all the Quizzing Games you need. Once we receive payment we can ship the games immediately via USPS mail. Please inquire through email or phone before sending payment in order to confirm that the two conditions will be met and the appropriate shipping charge is determined.

Is it true that you give away games for free to Awana missionaries?

YES! If an Awana missionary thinks that the game might help promote Bible quizzing or encourage more clubbers to participate, then by all means…we would love to send out a free game. If you are an Awana missionary, just email Brian@QuizzingGame.com with your address and a note of explanation (including which area of the country you serve in), and we would be happy to send out a copy of the game to you.

How do I print off the questions for a particular book?

From the Welcome Screen, press the Question Editor button in the lower right of the screen. From the Question Editor screen, select Load from the File menu (i.e. - File/Load). Select which book you would like to print. From there you can set your print options in the lower right of the Question Editor screen. When you wish to print, just hit the print button.

I loaded the book, and the timer started going, but no question came up.

If you are playing the game with sound, the most common problem is that the speakers need to be turned on. If your speakers are on then you should check your sound controls by double clicking on your Volume Control icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (If your Volume Control is not in the bottom right of your screen, you can find it at Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control.) Make sure that your Wave volume control is turned up and that it is not on mute.

I purchased a newer version of your game and when I went to play the game it still only showed the same books that I had with my old version.

You will need to uninstall your previous version and then install your newer version in order for any new books to show up in the list of books/manuals to load. To uninstall the old version go to your Control Panel and the Add or Remove Programs icon. From here you can select the Quizzing Game program and remove it. Once the old version is removed, put your new CD in the drive and let the game install.

Sometimes the timer starts before the question is read, so I can't hear the whole question.

Each sound file is read from the CD drive. Even on the newest computer it can take time for the CD drive to read the file on the CD. When the install program was made we decided not to copy 600MB of files to your hard drive. However, you may wish to copy the book(s) you are using to your hard drive. Each book can be from 10-30MB. Having the sound files on your hard drive will solve this problem.

To copy the sound files to your hard drive, open the CD under My Computer. Go to "D:\Quizzing Install\Support" where "D" is the letter of your CD-ROM drive. This is the folder that holds all the sound files for the game. Each book has a code. The first one or two letters stand for the book, then the Bible version, then the question number (If you are still unsure which letters stand for which book, you can load the book in the Question Editor screen and at the bottom of the Question Editor screen there is a box which tells the code for the book). All the sound files end in the extension ".wav". Copy all the files of the book you want to the Quizzing Game folder. Typically the folder is C:\Program Files\Quizzing where "C" is the letter of your main hard drive.

No matter what speed level I choose on the Welcome Screen, the game always counts down from 16 seconds.

The 16 second timer is the amount of time a player has to buzz in. In order for the counter to start to the amount of time you set it to on the Welcome Screen (i.e. - 60 seconds, 15 seconds, no timer etc), a player must buzz in by pressing "q" (or "p" if 2 players are playing). Once a player rings in, then the timer will start counting down according to the settings that you set on the Welcome Screen. If you answer the question without buzzing in then no score will be recorded. This simulates Bible Quizzing in that the teams have a certain time to buzz in before the question is thrown out. Once a player buzzes in, then they have 60 seconds to finish their answer. If a player wants to practice with the game, because he/she is not sure of the correct answer, simply answer with the multiple choice or type in the box. The game will still tell you whether you were correct or not, but it will not record any points for the response.

Whenever I place the Quizzing Game CD in the computer, it tries to install every time.

A few versions of the game had a small install error. To correct this problem you will need to create a text file called “bq.ini” in your Windows directory. Here is how you do this:

A. Open My Computer

B. If your computer is set to “hide extensions of know file types” please un-select this preset option. Here is how to check:

  1. Click “Tools” from the Menu

  2. Now click on “Folder Options”

  3. Now click on the “View” tab

  4. Under Advanced Settings, uncheck the check box called “hide extensions of known file types”

  5. Click on the "Apply to all folders" button on the top part of the window

  6. Click “OK” in the message box

  7. Click “OK” in the Folder Options Window

C. Now, go to your Windows directory, which is typically the C:\Windows folder but may vary on your system. NOTE: If you are using Win NT or 2000 the Windows directory will be C:\winnt

D. Right click anywhere on the screen

E. Select “New" and then "Text File/Document"

F. Name the file “bq.ini”

G. Say OK to the warning about changing file types
